What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of deep, natural relaxation in which you remain in full control of yourself and aware of your surroundings at all times—yet feel pleasantly relaxed and calm.

A common misconception is that hypnosis means that someone else takes control of your mind or manipulates it in some way. This is by no means the case. During a hypnosis session, you remain fully conscious, can react normally, and are able to make your own decisions—just in a particularly relaxed state.

Hypnosis not only feels good, it is also an effective tool—especially because of what can be specifically worked on in this state. The actual effectiveness does not come solely from relaxation, but from the targeted therapeutic work that becomes possible in the state of hypnosis.
